Position Description

Provide expert nursing care on a specialized Oncology Med-Surg unit recognized for its commitment to quality and patient safety. This contract opportunity is based in the Littleton, CO area and offers a chance to work in a modern, well-equipped environment where teamwork and high standards drive exceptional outcomes.

Location:

Situated near Littleton, the facility boasts a new Oncology unit featuring state-of-the-art equipment, including bedside vital sign monitors and robust electronic medical records through Meditech. The unit is located in a vibrant community with beautiful outdoor spaces and convenient access to Denver metropolitan amenities, making it an appealing place for lifestyle balance.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients on a 13-bed Med-Surg unit
  • Administer chemotherapy and manage patient care plans accordingly
  • Collaborate with a skilled team including one charge nurse and three RNs per shift to maintain safe patient ratios (typically 4:1 or 5:1)
  • Uphold infection control standards contributing to outstanding safety records (e.g., over three years without CAUTI)
  • Participate in unit self-scheduling and commit to working every other weekend

Qualifications And Desired Experience

  • Current RN licensure with Med-Surg oncology experience
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and deliver patient-centered care
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
